"Hi D. D.!

It’s me Carol of “Norman & Carol” Long Island, N.Y.

Look how proud he is of your certificate and shampoo gift!

I’m sending you this picture so you can see for yourself !

LOL, Carol !"

IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS !

Delta Dick,

Trooper Keith Simonette came into my office today to tell me that you were no longer "on the air".  I was disappointed to hear of this as you have been a great supporter of the Minnesota State Patrol and law enforcement in general.  I really do think you cared greatly about the safety of your listeners. You assisted us in educating the public through methods other then arrests and citations.  It is my hope that you will find a comfortable and rewarding career elsewhere and that you will remain a loyal friend to us and those in your community who support you.  Thank you!

You are the funniest guy on 247.  I really enjoy your different style and good humor. You make lite of everyday situations besides playing great polka music.

Good luck in the New Year.  Bill Flynn,

COMMENTS FROM LISTENERS TO MY CURRENT INTERNET SHOW ON WWW.247POLKAHEAVEN.COM

"DELTA DICK: Have been off the air with my computer for quite some time.....now back again and stuff is working good.  What a fantastic web site you have.  I checked it out briefly but will go thru it more tomorrow.  Was tuned in to to 247PolkaHeaven a while ago and with our dial-up, it came in just great.  What I have to do now is update my Polka IJ directory as well as the program schedule because mine went back to 2004.  Then with the new sked, I can hi-lite when you are on.  Your web site contains one heck of a lot of great info and some of the stuff you show are the creeps that are putting our country in a deep hole.  I don't know about you, but I , I should say, we didn't vote for the black man that's in now.  Was hoping that McCain would have been able to be the man that our country needed, but instead look who we are stuck with.  Terrible !!!!  Hope to see you sometime soon.  Take care now." (From Minnetonka, Minnesota)

"Hello Delta Dick,

Please allow me to introduce myself. I recently found your website as I perused through a variety of links on the Carver County Website.  I am a longtime listener of old time music (I grew up with the Ben Barta Band, the Jolly Ramblers, Marv Nissel, The Wendingers, etc.) and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your music on the web.  The only thing that would make it better would be receiving your show on my am/fm radio in the squad car as I patrol the roads of Carver County.

I enjoyed listening to your interview with Sheriff Bud Olson, which took place back in April.  I think it is great that you took the time to visit with our Sheriff and I look forward to the next interview.  I would love to stop by and say hello sometime when I am passing through Hamburg, if you are open to visitors.

Thanks again for the GREAT website!:

"Just got through listening to the disc you gave me. I love the "New" highway name." (Carol Molnau Memorial Expressway.) "You had a commercial in the middle by the MN Highway Department (I think) that featured a lady rescue person. Its one of the best commercials for safe driving that I have ever heard.

See you at your command performance on Friday."

"Hello Delta Dick, Hope this finds you well, I am enjoying your programming and you have got quite a few listeners down here in Texas.  Keep up the great work and play a couple of good songs for me, Chuck Thiel band and any one of Larry Olsons great band. Take care and  hopefully some time in the near future we might get up there and visit with all of you. Best  wishes."

"I have checked all of your work.  A talent such as yours should never go to waste.  Keep up the good work!"

"Hello,

I came across your site while searching the net for some quality websites. I think you did a great job with your site." Zurich, Switzerland

"Hi Dick,  I had an opportunity to take a good look at your Web site the other day.  You obviously have put alot of hard work into it.  Very nice job.  I enjoyed it. Have a good day."

"I enjoyed your show Dick, except you never told me what the name of the songs were. It was a nice tribute; great way to kick off this Independence Day celebration.  Hope you enjoy yours!"

"I'm relieved that nobody in Hamburg was injured or killed, and I am happy that Delta Dick is safe. I love his internet radio show."

"Hello Dick, I am still enjoying your great program. Hope that you and yours are doing well. It is hotter then the devil down here. Send some cool weather down with all the great music. Sure would like to hear some polkas by any of the Dutchmen bands.   They are all my favorites. Tthanks allot." Texas

"Love your show. Today I believe you featured Squeeze Box. Where can I get a copy of the CD.  Love the Brass in Round and Round.  Glad your are going to have a couple of shows each week over the summer.  Plan on being in your area in July for a family reunion and a day of fishing on Mille Lacs." Chester, New York

"Delta:  Thanks for passing along the info!  Keep up the fine work on your Internet show!" Ridgeville Corners, Ohio

"I was wondering if you could help me out.  On Wednesday, 5/28/08, between 8:00-9:00 pm, I heard a polka band playing on a live broadcast in front of a crowd, but not once did I hear who they were. I think the IJ was "Delta Dick". I would like to find out their name, and how to contact them, and purchase their CD's.  They had a sort of western/country flavor with guitars in their ensemble. It was different, but very good.

While I'm at it, I'll tell you that I like what you have done, and still do, at 247polkaheaven.  I'm Irish decent, but polkas are in my blood. I grew up in Warren, Ma, and acquired my polka love there.  I occasionally hear the IJ say "Hadley, MA, Ludlow, MA, Palmer MA, Stafford Springs, CT, etc., all places around Warren.  Being 1000 miles away, living in Louisville, KY for the last 47 years, it is kind of eerie to hear old stomping ground names. Anyway, I'm rambling, I'd appreciate any help you can provide.  And, again,  I want you to know some of us out here appreciate your work. You have a dedicated listener!" Louisville, Kentucky

"I caught some of a live show you had today 3-12 but I didn't hear who the band was.  I really enjoyed the sound and I would like to purchase any recordings that they might have.  I'm originally from Nebraska and it sounded like I remember the Czech bands from that area sounding. Thanks for allowing Polka fans in the San Francisco Bay Area to get all kinds of polka entertainment!" Half Moon Bay, California

"I stumbled upon a really entertaining and informative site today - the Delta Dick Show - and I have had a few exchanges with Delta Dick and he is a really nice guy. His site talks about just about anything and everything from politics (local and national), senior and elderly issues, and also integrates quite a nice dose of humor throughout his site. He is an American who seems to really care about which direction things are headed. You can also get a nice dose of Polka from his website! It was really a pleasure “meeting” him and I wish him the best success to him, his show, and his website.

I was also very touched by his tribute to his cat Barney."

"Just a note letting you know how much I enjoyed your program from the Waconia ballroom the other evening. My daughter's wedding dance was held there many years ago. I am legally now a Florida resident since 1992, but get back to MN in the summer. Don't get any good umpa music down here. If you have a few years under the belt you may remember my uncle's Playmore ballroom and the Jerry Dostal band."

"Dick

Live in Chester New York - born and raised in Chippewa Falls, Wi.  Enjoy your show it's always a Hoot!  I want to order CD of the Top Notch band - can you email me their phone number.  Thanks much." The address and telephone umber for the TOP Notchmen is 5526 171st Street, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin 54729. Phjone number is (715) 723-8655. Please tell them that you heard their music on the 'DELTA DICK' Old Tyme Music Internet Show on www.247polkaheaven.com. THANKS !!

"Thursday morning at eleven EST, I heard and really enjoyed you encore of the first "Delta Dick Show" from 2004. Sounds like a great "Lift" for us old timers to get togeather and swap stories and music. I think you might be onto something great. Keep up the 'Good Works'. Thanks." Ed. Omaha,  Nebraska

"Dick, that was cool revisiting the first show tonight!"

"I just wanted to thank you for featuring our band and giving us the air play that you have. I received many phone calls for CD orders! I also got the CD and photos. Thanks!" Becky Livermore of 'Barefoot Becky & The Ivanhoe Dutchmen"

"Hey Delta Dick;

You have a very nice style and delivery and selection of music.  I hear you while working at the radio station here during the day.  Keep it going."

"Hi, Dick, nice to meet you this way. I just glanced over your website and can see that I will find many interesting exposes on your site!"

"Dick,

Nice job putting the DesLauriers obit in your site. He was a real super guy that really contributed to society and the people around Hamel and Hennepin County."

"Hi Dick

Read with interest your comments about Carol Molnau our MN DOT commissioner. Isn't it strange that Chris Dietzen was now appointed to the MN Supreme Court?

I enjoy your web page."

"Dear Delta Dick:

Just a note to let you know that you continue to have a listener in Cheshire , CT. It is December 8th at 0025H as I listen to your prerecorded program. Always enjoy your comments and of course the fine music that you select to broadcast.

Merry Christmas to you and your’s, and all the BEST in 2008 as you weave the threads of the tapestry of life."

"Thanks for  playing my type of music."

"Hi...Love German type music....keep up the good work...Freddie Zwic music is great."

"Received your great e-mail. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas with the Christmas music and all."

"Hi Delta Dick:

We enjoy the Polka Music.

You asked for someone that does something unusual, check out my web site and see me at work at www.lightningrodstuff.com/index_files/page0003.htm. We earn our living pursuing  Benjamin Franklin's most famous invention. Also check out the home page for old time replica's we make.

Thanks

"Hello Dick.
Just wanted to wish you and yours a happy thanksgiving holiday from me and my wife Peggy.  We enjoy your programs very much
so keep on sending that great polka Music over the internet.   take care and play a couple of good polkas fro me if you have time.    Thanks"

"Just wanted to e-mail you and let you know that your show is great! Keep up the great work. Could you play more music from Change of Pace's CD "Raising the Bar"? We listen to all the shows on 247 PolkaHeaven and they come in loud and clear in New Castle, PA."
Thanks!"

"Dick -

Great show and Polkaaaholics music to boot!  keep up the great  work!"

"Hi D.D.

We want to know what’s going on with “24/7” format? The programs are loosing the “POLKA” ethic! The sounds that we’re hearing are not Polkas! Did some “politically correct” creodont get control over it! Please E-Mail and let us know! Thanks for listening to my show on 247PolkaHeaven.com and taking time to send me an e-mail with your concerns. (In all reality, there isn't really much of anything different going on with 247PolkaHeaven. Congress passed a law effective July 15th that says ANY music, not just polka music, that is played on the internet now is required to pay humongus 'fees' for the privilige of playing the music. It's a stupid law but a law, nonetheless, that must be complied with. Some outfit called 'Sound Exchange' is responsible to ensure that the law is complied with and responsible for collecting the appropriate 'fees' for Uncle Sam.

BUT; Polka America Corporation 'went to bat' for companies, like 247, that 'stream' polka music and 'negotiated' a 'deal' with Sound Exchange that allows 247PolkaHeaven to continue 'streaming' their programming without having to pay any 'fees' but with one 'restriction' (which really isn't a big deal: Any band or musician that has their music played on 247 MUST register with the Polka America Corporation. Quite simply, if they don't register their band, their music CAN'T be played. Period.

The reason that you may think you're noticing programming which you believe is 'drifting away' from the 'mainstream' old time music, is because there are a zillion bands that, forwhatever reason (don't know about the new law, didn't think they had to register, thought it's cost too much, etc.) haven't yet registered. Again, if they're not registered, we can't play their music. (It doesn't cost ANYTHING for a band to register itself.)

As an example, I have over 4000 songs in my master music library by a variety of artists and bands. But, as of July 15th, I can't play ANY songs by ANY band that isn't registered. So I have to 'copy' the songs of the bands that ARE (or have) registered into a seperate 'library'. Then, from this 'seperate' library, I record my shows using ONLY those songs that I have copied from my master music library. At last report, that was only about 1/10 of the total songs I have on file!! But there IS good news on the horizon as far as I, my fellow IJ's and 247Polka Heaven is concerened.

As more and more old time music bands and artists are finding out about this new law and learning that there is NO CHARGE for a band to register, they are 'getting with the program' and registering their band. Once they are registered all of us will begin playing their music once again.

So that's it in a nutshell. 247PolkaHeaven is NOT changing and NOT going 'off' the Internet. This latest law is just a minor 'speed bump' on the highway of Old Time Music via the Internet. When I first heard about it, I thought it was going to be more of a hassle than it really is; it's relatively easy to comply with, even though I initially gave serious consideration to 'giving up' doing my show for 247PolkaHeaven. But now, after doing three shows, it's no big deal and it's an easy 'requirement' to live with.

Granted; it'll take some time until all of your favorite bands and artists get registered (some may never register) but things will be back to 'normal' relatively soon. So 'hang in there'. And also check out my Homepage at www.deltadickshow.com to hear Ray Zalocar's message about the minor change that has taken place. (Ray is the Executive Director of 247PolkaHeaven.)

Thanks for you concern, keep listening to 247PolkaHeaven and you'll notice that sooner than you think, more and more of your favorite Old Tyme Music will be returning to 247PolkaHeaven as more and more bands register with Polka America Corporation. D.D.)

"Dick,

We are letting you know we are still out here listening to your sound and your choices of Polka music you put on your show!

It’s been at least 45 years, from the Pt. Washington Polish Home to today on the internet that we have been enjoying your music.

Yes, my husband and I also love your “IJ” work! Isn’t this internet business outrageous!

A little over a year ago we sold our home on Long Island and moved down here to North Carolina so Norman could retire! Our house is beautiful and so is the weather! What more could anyone want? To top it off we get you and all the Polka sounds “24/7” any time we want! A touch of home!

Well, I hope you like this E-Mail you asked for, it was our pleasure to let you know!"

"Hi D. D.

I really can’t believe it! Just about two weeks ago Norman decided to give away his collected T-Shirts he had taking –up space in his walk-in closet!

I think what did it was the move we made last year! He had them in boxes when we lived in N. Y. but here with more closest space he now hangs them up and saw just how many of them he had. He didn’t use even half of them! Our sons and their family were here last week so our sons and grandsons went home with at least half of Normans T-Shirt memorabilia!

You and Norman have at least three things in common, as a kid, you hated corduroy pants, also collecting T-Shirts and you both love Polka music!
HE, HE!

We had you for dinner again tonight and we heard you say you were sending one of your precious keepsakes to me! I am honored and will keep it hung in a very special place! I will attach a label to it noting the date and who it was that sent it to me! Thank you for your thoughtfulness,

LOL, Carol of “Norman & Carol” Whiteville, N. C.

P. S. My B-day is on the 15th. Hopefully it will come soon! I can show it off to my family and friends! It will make my day perfect!"

"Enjoy your program on 24/7 Polka Heaven.com. Keep up the great work on promoting the Polka Music. Thank you and God Bless YOU!! Tom"
Spring Hill, Florida

"Hi D. D.:

It’s only me Carol of, “Norman & Carol”. We had you for dinner tonight and I’m glad to tell you, I was able to get your website with a full range of audio!

Over a month ago I thought I did something to my computer because when I would go to your website the sound was so low and you don’t have a manual adjustment on your website so there was nothing I could do! Well, tonight it was fine! Go figure! It wasn’t me after all!

As always your choice of sounds, your sense of hummer and your great “IJ” work made a good dinner hour for us!

Norman and I want to wish you good luck with your new nesting place!

LOL, Carol Whiteville N.C.

P. S. I love your kittens!"

"Dear Dick:

I have listened to your 247PH show many times in the past. It has been awhile since I thanked you for your fine presentations. Please keep up the fine work you do regarding your USA patriotism and keeping the polka sound alive. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jim" Cheshire, Ct.

"Hello Dick.  Just a note to say hello and let you know that I am still listening and enjoying your programs..  Keep up the great music  and
programming.   Got a request.   How about a song from the Top Notchmen or the Ridgland Dutchmen?  Take Care and best wishes always.
Bill Fischer" Temple Texas

"Hi, Dick! I love your show but that's understandable, given that I learned to love polkas (and a girlfriend almost taught me how to dance it right) when I was living in Hutchinson, Minnesota in the 1970s. That prompts me to ask if you have any Wally Pikal music -- Wally and I both appeared on KDUZ radio in those days and I went to lots of his dances in the area ballrooms.

In any case, I'd love to hear some Wally Pikal -- but PLEASE don't play it until your first show in April -- I'll on vacation for the next couple of weeks and will miss the show (boo, hoo!) March 13, 20 and 27.

Anyway, thanks for your efforts and the Delta Dick Show! Polka On!
George"  Marblehead Mass.

"Thanks for quick and satisfying reply.  I successfully ordered and mentioned that you sent me.

I appreciate your scoop on current events on your site.  Ad on book on group homes prompted me to seek out friend of mine, who reportedly
moved into one, months ago.

Sincerely,

Peter"

"Hi Dick,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well. Thank you so much for the e-mail and thanks too for the nice card.

We feel very lucky to have happy healthy kids and we all enjoyed spending some quality time together.  It’s back to work this week and we’re trying to get the kids back into their routine.

Thanks as always for the nice words on your Website.

Best wishes to you and your family in 2007."

"We love your Website! It’s full of “CHRISTMAS” and Christ which, by the way, is the reason for the season! I’m so sick of people and the politically correct greeting or farewell with, “Happy Holiday”! You show “PRIDE” in your display of your Webpage! In the Webster’s Dictionary the definition for “PRIDE” is “justifiable self-respect”! Hurrah!! For Delta Dick!! Whiteville, North Carolina

"Hi again,
Just to reinforce our 1st e-mail, we enjoy your show very much. Keep it up. Your friends in southern New England. Jack T. Connecticut

"Hello up there in North Country,

Been listening to the 24-7 polka program and came across your segment. I like it very much out here in the Florida of New England (Ct.) I enjoy the om  pa pa music very much. Where can I purchase either cassettes or CD's of this kind of music? I enjoy your accent (you got one).

When I first heard your story on the corn burning stove, I thought it was gimmick. Further listening revealed it was a true pitch.

Here in southern  New England, it is a given that wood is king and not too many people don't  know how to operate a wood stove.

Again, your program in very enjoyable. If you are in the neighborhood, I'll buy the coffee.

Sincerly,

John, Canterbury, Ct. 06331 (John:  No, it's not a 'gimmick'. My 'stories' about Burning Corn To Heat Our Home' is a true story. THANKS !! for your e-mail. D.D.)

"Glad to have you back playing good polka music. Great show tonite. Glad the politics are out of the way. Were you succesful in getting Amy K. defeated?  Chet" Dunedin, Fl. (Thank's for your e-mail, Chet. No, sadly, Amy Klobuchar, the Hennepin County Attorney who refused to prosecute a fellow lawyer, is 'off to Washington'. Now, instead of just 'sucking off the taxpayer's teats in Hennepin County, she'll be sucking off the taxpayer's teats from all of Minnesota !!D.D.)

"Hey Dick,

That CD was hilarious. How did you get your own web site. I liked the web site as well. I like polka music. I have another polka CD from Bob
Brenny from Albany Minnesota. Do you have your studio in your home? John" Shakopee, Mn.  (Thanks, John, for your e-ail and kind remarks about my Website and the CD I gave you. I used to play Bob Brenny's music when I worked at the radio station in New Prague. Also, one of my former co-workers (I mean, 'team members'!) at the radio station used to work at the radio station in Albany. And, yes, I have my studio in my palatial estate in Bentonville U.S.A. which is just a few miles 'down the road' from everywhere.  D.D.)

"You must be busy too with corn burning stoves, writing a book, politics, etc. And most of all your fantastic I.J. work! Thanks again for all your great sounds for us to work along with!"

"Hello Dick. Still enjoying your program and have given your times to several of my friends down here in central Texas. Just wanted to say hello. If you have time, play a song for me; anything from the Top Notchmen.

Take care and perhaps we will be able to come up that way in the future and visit with you. Best Wishes." Temple Texas

"I really like your new (?) Webpage with all the pictures."

"Love that music today.

Al"
Green Bay, Wi.

"You’re great Dick."

"Thanks Dick, We appreciate your support."

"Hey Guy

You have now gotten an e-mail from Kampala Uganda from a stateside polka lover here on a work project. Its pretty rough as far as living conditions go. I am here working on the US embassy and will be here for a few weeks. TV is virtually non existent and power is not a given.
So Internet is about my only entertainment. Even it is interrupted quite often

We need to be really happy to be fortunate to be living in the states. If you hear people complain about taxation, living conditions etc they just need to see what poverty really is. This may be hard to comprehend but our homeless have a better life that the majority of Ugandans

Anyway keep up the good work, you are an island of pleasure in my day even though there is an 8 hour time difference

Frank"

"Hi D. D.

It’s only me Carol of “Norman & Carol” Whiteville, N. C.  (That’s a first!)

Well, we made it! We’re still “up to our ears” in boxes but we’re here!

We left a lot of long time good neighbors and friends and most of all family behind but when I put “24/7” on today for the first time, it was so good to hear you and the whole gang of “IJ’s” it was like having a touch of “Home” for me! So you see you’re helping me to get past my home sickness! We couldn’t bring everyone here but we have “you ‘all” with us and that’s fantastic!

(See I’m already picking up a southern slang! HE, HE!)

Carol

Thanks for all your good sounds and “IJ” work,

LOL, Carol of “Norman & Carol” in “The First in Flight” State!"

"Hello Delta Dick;

A short note to let you know how much we are enjoying your Fourth of July Show; it is GREAT to hear the patriotic music today! !

Keep up the Happy Polka !!

Thank You and best regards,

Frank and Kathy Hudson, New Hampshire

"Hi Delta Dick,

Great show!

Would you happen to have the lyrics for OLD John Deere Polka (Putt, putt, putt), by Elmer Nemec and the Polka Joy Orchestra?

Thanks,  Tom" (Yes; that would be great. Do you think I should try to sing the song on my show once I get the lyrics?.THANKS FOR LISTENING !! Delta)

"Yes!!!  Tom"

"Dick:

Always try to listen to your program on the Internet. Like your music selection and was interested in obtaining the CD called "Look at Us". Please advise. Mike"  (Mike: Thanks for listening to my show and thanks also for taking the time to send me your e-mail. I have forwarded your e-mail to the TOP NOTCHMEN BAND and asked them to respond directly to you. In the interim, their telephone number is (715) 723-8655 and their address is 5526 171st Street, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin 54729. Thanks again. Delta)

"Mr. D.D.:

My name is Norm Foggan III, Son of Norman and Carol Foggan. I wanted to let you know that all is well and I have my Dad and Mom in there new home in North Carolina. No not a nursing home! They have to much energy for all that.

We did the big trip about 4 weeks back and they are till unloading boxes. We must have moved about 480 of them and the furniture too. Mom still has not unpacked the PC. I know at one point she had said to me that she needs to get back on to make contact with you. So that is why I have sent this e-Mail to let you know that all is great for the Foggan's in NC,

Hopefully in the next 2 to 3 weeks we can get Mom and Dad back on line with the world famous Delta Dick Show.

Thanks for your time.

Norm Foggan III"

"Thursday 7:30 am you played a Chezka number called "The Owl Polka" It is sung by a male group.Name of album please & where I can get the C.D. Thanks. Olga (Olga: Thanks for listening and thanks for your e-mail. The song you are inquiring about is, indeed, Owl Polka by the Clete Bellin Orchestra. I'm unsure where you live but if you go to any quality music store that sells CD's they should either have it or be able to order it for you. THANKS AGAIN for listening!! Delta)

"PLEASE I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR THE JOHN DEERE TRACTOR SONG . THANK YOU.FROM  DSE."

"Dick, thanks again for the opportunity to be on your show. I enjoyed it. Let me know when it will be on your website so I can listen to it. Mike Fahey, County Attorney, Carver County, Minnesota"

"Hello Dick.  Enjoying your program as always. I have informed quite a few of my friends about your program and a lot of them are now listeners.

Just thought I would drop you a line to say hello. How about  playing  us a song from one of the Texas polka bands?

Did you ever get the tapes that I sent you of some of the Texas Bands????    Take care  and keep up the great music."

"I listened and it sure sounds as if you have a lot of fun doing the show ... for some reason after the hour was up the signal was hit and miss as you continued your show. At first I thought they had cut you off for running long but after a minute the dead air went away and I got your show, then it was on and off again.

I'm glad you liked Chief McManus. I liked him immediately when he interviewed and he was good with the gay community where he last worked. I was sad to see him leave. Minneapolis really screwed itself by not making sure he knew he would be retained for another three years."

"GOOD JOB DELTA !! You get a gold star!"

"Oh My Goodness D. D.

You really out did yourself this time! It’s a first for us! We’ve never had “WORMS” before! I guess at this stage in our lives, it’s a BIG possibility!! HE, HE!

Thanks for all your FUN efforts, your good!"

"Hi Dick:

Always enjoy tuning in to your show on 247PH as I am doing tonight, 3/29/06. Nice tribute to Chief McManus of Minneapolis.

Just wanted to let you know that you have a least one listener in CT.

Love your humor….Keep up the great work….

Jim – Cheshire, CT"

"Hi Dick,

I'm Norman and Carol's daughter Patti from CT.

My parents who love this show so much and stop their day to get home to listen a happy Birthday to Pop (Norman SR) and Happy Retirement Pop. Now Pop can sit and listen any time he wants now that he is retired. Also Mom and Pop are moving to my brother Norman's town in North Carolina and we the Fagan siblings wish Mom and Pop the best day's of there life in there new home.

Keep up the good work Dick.

A new listener and proud to be Polish"

"Hi Dick

Thanks for the update and we will check out the shows.  We do appreciate the air time.  This is our first recording but we will definitely get you any future recordings we put out.

Thanks again!

Pete Mrozinski"

"Dick,

Great to hear the Polkaholics on your show.  Beer Garden Polka no less.  Don wrote that for his dear Vera because she really likes the
metal band Sound Garden.

Way to go!!!  You Rock!!!"

"I happened to catch your show the other day, there was some mention about some troubles with (Hennepin County Attorney Amy) Klobuchar.  I live in Ely and that is the birthplace of her father so she was going to get my vote.  Before I spout my mouth off, I'd like to get more details from you." (Check out my Webpage about Klobuchar at www.deltadickshow.com/hennepincountyattorneyamyklobuchar.html.)

"Hi D. D.:

"Hi,
I have been searching all over trying to get the music to Patty Cake Polka.   I would like it to have the calls in it so I can play it for a church group to dance to.  Do you have any guidance.  I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance for your time. Chanda."
(LISTENERS: Anybody able to help this listener out? If so, please e-mail her at soccerweston@yahoo.com. THANKS !! D.D.)

"Hi D. D.

Had to drop you a note to say, Thank You for your thoughtfulness!

We got the C. D. you mailed of last weeks show! We got to hear the whole show and as always, you are a fantastic I. J.!

About Bob Gledhill; we were so excited! After giving him as much info as we could, after contacting a few relatives of ours, after giving him the names of the Foggans in the photo he E-Mailed us, we were not able to make the connection between the Gledhill and Foggan family! It’s so sad!!

We corresponded for three months almost daily, then, no more questions, no more answers, no more nothing! My only hope is that if from the other names we got for him he will get a lead to someone who can help! Also that he lets us know when or if he finds out something! See you did a good thing! Thank you for starting this by forwarding his E-Mail!

Talk to you soon, LOL, Carol of Norman & Carol." Long Island, N.Y.

"Hello Dick.  Just a note from down here in central Texas to let you know that you have quite a few people down here now tune in to 247 polka heaven. and also to Delta Dicks show.   Keep up the good music.  How about paying a tune for me.. any thing from Stephenie and her honky band. Take care best wishes always.Bill and Peggy." (Bill and Peggy: I've tried to e-mail you but every e-mail I send to you gets 'rejected'. Do you have another e-mail address?)

"Dick... We just got back from Mexico last night at 0100.  I checked on my emails before going to bed and played this attachment and everyone (Colleen, Paul and the boys) were in the room at the same time and heard their names on the radio.  We all got a real charge out of it.

Thanks.

T, C, P and the boys (Rusty and Bruce)"

"Comment of praise: Norman wanted me to tell you, “Thank you!” Not only for sending good Polka Music sounds all over the world but helping unite a long lost family member! As you can see from this E-mail below, our find is still in the works! We have other family members working on this but we are dealing with a 60+ years to link up with and the ones who would know are 70+ years or gone!

I think Bob is in Bolton Lancashire, UK. Last month he went on holiday for a few days in Scotland! Doesn’t that, “knock your socks off?” HE, HE!

Talk to you soon, LOL, Carol"

"Hi Dick,  How are you getting along?   Fine I hope.  We are doing good here.  Am glad to back on line again....it's been a lengthy time.  My best machine, the Compaq picked up a worm and I had to have the operating system re-installed to get it to work.  In the meantime when the shop was working on the Compaq., I ended up buying a used Dell 2000 which is working superbly.  I had them take out the Modem card out of the Compaq since that one is used for game software only.  Gert likes her Casino games..  I had to take the Dell back once because of a problem.....only to find out that my ISP was having a problem.  The home page wouldn't come up.  Couple of days of that and it finally worked.  I tell you, I have been in Electronics all my life and believe me there is no perfect working electronic item nowadays.  Was going to ask you about 247polkaheaven.......when I call it up and after the buffering stabilizes it works OK.  When you first were on it was great....now when I download the station., their format is speeded up.  That is, the music as well as the announcers voice.  Should I install any updates on Windows Media player that I don't know about?  Would appreciate any clues that you may be able to pass along to me.  Thanks and am glad to be back on the air again.  Stan.  Gert says HI.".

One of the artists that you feature on your website, Larry Novotny, was recently inducted into Montgomery-Lonsdale High School's "Wall of Fame" in the "Fine Arts" category.  I am proud to say that I nominated him.  Attached, please find my nominating letter.  I am sending it to you, with his knowledge and approval, because it contains a lot of factual background information re: Larry Novotny, some of which may be of use to you, now and/or at some future date, in your continuing effort to promote “old tyme” music.  Please feel free to use any parts of it as you see fit.

"Hello Dick.

Sitting here and enjoying your program.  I wonder if you ever got those tapes of several Texas bands I sent you.   I sent some to Ray Zalokar and he received them. and has played them on his  program.  I have had a problem with my email and I do not know if my messages are getting through.  Any way play a song for a listener down here in Texas.  I imagine there will be a lot of others down here that will hear them.  Keep up the good music.

Best wishes always."

"Hi D. D.

"Greetings Sir,  First of all, I love your corn stove web page!  I just bought one myself and have not installed it as of yet. I was looking for info from people who are experienced and Google sent me to YOU!  Your sense of humor makes your weblog a must read.  Did I tell you I am a farmer from Maryland?  I am in Sudlersville Maryland.  We are on the Delmarva Peninsula or what we call the Eastern Shore of Maryland. (The Corn Belt of the East) Yep, a corn farmer to boot.  I know how to grow corn, but burning it is a new thing to me.  So one or two questions and suggestions.  First, do you know the moisture of the corn you are burning?  A moisture of 12% to 14% is the best in my manual.    If you are buying corn , #2 corn is sold on a basis of 15.5% moisture.  In other words, standard corn is too wet for our stoves.  We are going to dry a load down extra dry for our( my brother bought on too)  stoves.  I wonder if you are getting dry enough corn? Anyway,  you seem to have mastered the lighting and burning so your corn must be dry.  Last question,  how did you get that good at writing web pages.  Is there an easy way to learn without taking a lot of classes?   Oh well, thanks for the fun website. Steve "

(Steve:

THANKS FOR YOUR E-MAIL !!

Originally, I thought the corn was too wet so I took some to the local farmers elevator; it was 10.1%. That's drier than recommended by the manufacturer; they say 12-14%. I've never heard of #2 corn. I'll bet it's between #1 and #3; but that's just an uneducated guess.

My biggest problem was being in a hurry to get it hooked up and burning, and being unfamiliar and 'afraid' of how it acted. Initially, I didn't put silicone on all of the joints in the exhaust venting; I didn't think they needed it. Dumb me!! If the manufacturer says to put silicone on all of the joints, that's apparently what you're supposed to do. Kinda like, if it looks like a duck and smells like a duck and quacks like a duck.....well; you know the rest.

The other thing was that I was afraid of was getting the fire too hot. I mean, it roared like a blast furnace once it got going and that was the wrong approach. I was using too much of the wood pellets and not enough of the starter gel. Here's what seems to work: Take a quart round plastic milk bottle and cut the bottom off of it about 3/4 of an inch from the bottom. Then, I take and fill that 1/2 way up with wood pellets and place them in the fire box on the backside of the auger. Put the lighter gel (a liberal amount; I use about two tablespoonfuls) on the first 'load' of wood pellets and then put a level 'full' dose' of wood pellets on top of the 1/2 dose and put another couple of tablespoons of starter gel on top. Then, light the starter gel. I have to keep the door open until they get burning decently because there's little (if any) natural draft. I let them burn for 3-4 minutes. Once I'm convinced they're gonna keep burning because of the intensity of their fire, I then close the door and turn the unit on. This (at least on my unit) starts the combustion burner which 'feeds' air to the fire chamber making the wood pellets burn hotter and much more intense.

Normally, the auger and agitator begin three minutes after the unit it turned on but I manually inhibit the auger from delivering corn into the fire post for about three 'cycles'; that's what was putting the fire out, it was overloading the fire post and smothering the fire. (I let the agitator 'agitate', though and that stirs up the wood pellets and lighter gel.) Then, when I'd go to restart it, It was a natural tendency to put more wood chips and starter gel on an already overloaded fire pot and things went from bad to worse. (But, it was a good way to test the smoke alarms!)

Finally, when I was having my initial problems, I took the shop vac and vacuumed everything out of the fire pot (be sure there is NO FIRE) and started all over again. I guess my main 'misgiving' was thinking that the fire was burning way to fast and furious and was gonna catch the stove and the house and the cats on fire and we'd have another Great Chicago Fire right here in Bentonville U.S.A.

Now, I'm cocky and consider myself an expert on lighting and operating corn burning stoves !! And giving information and advice out over the Internet. There must not be a God !!

Anyway, we'll find out. It's been a week or more since I fired the corn stove up because it's been really warm; was 78 a few days ago. But this weekend they are forecasting snow flurries and high temperatures only in the upper 30's or low forties with little or no sun. Probably Sunday afternoon is 'light up' time. Keep checking my website to see how things progress. Also, I posted your e-mail there and on my 'COMMENTS' website at www.deltadickshow.com/comments.html because of your kind remarks about my website.

As for how I learned how to do it, well; I've been making websites (from scratch) for about three years and making website is like a fine wine; it get's better with age. Some people hone their skills by drinking and chasing women; I enjoy working on websites although chasing and drinking sounds like a heck of a lot more fun !!

Thanks again for your e-mail; any more ???, just ask and if you haven't already, check out my homepage, www.deltadickshow.com and other related websites and tune into my Internet show; the schedule is on my home page.

Take care. D.D.)

If you do have one to mail, our address is ......" (Thanks for asking but due to popular demand, autographed pictures are of me aren't available at this time. The closest thing I can suggest is the picture of Alfred E. Neuman which is somewhere, someplace on one of my Webpages. But, THANKS!! for asking!)

"Hi D. D.

The only great thing that happen this week is we got your CD! Thank you!

Your Show on “24/7” today, Monday noon time, was fun! I was cooking in the kitchen and Norman was on the ladder in the living room when you mentioned the part of your youth that you didn’t like the corduroy pants that you had to wear!

Norman and I started to laugh out load! Norm said he knew there was another reason why he liked you! HA, HA!

That’s something he remembers when he was a kid that must have been a “sore spot” memory because he has mentioned it a lot over our 49 years together! Thanks for another great show! (Moral, never make your kids wear cloths they don’t like, for any reason!)

Thanks again for the C.D. and thinking of us!

You are a 'FUN' I.J."

I also play the accordion. Duluth, Minnesota

"Thank you so much for your help and your quick response.  I will go look today.  Have a good week."

"Cool site."

"I got your information from 247heaven website.  I am randomly looking for polka information.  My grandma died yesterday and liked polka music, but none of us know any specific songs.  She was 81, so born in 1924 and was married in 1944.  Can you suggest any basic happy polkas that might be nice to play for background music before and after the funeral.  She also liked Lawrence Welk.

Thanks for any help you can give me.  I am 39 and not familiar with this type of music. Thanks for your e-mail; I am sorry for your loss. Because your grandma like Lawrence Welk, I would suggest that you visit any well stocked music store that sells CD's and ask for any 'old time' music by Lawrence Welk, Myron Floren, the Six Fat Dutchmen, Whoopie John, or any well known band or musicians of which there are many. There's no such thing as a bad old time music song; some are just better than others. Any store clerk 'worth their salt' should be able to assist you.

Thanks for listening to my show and thanks for your e-mail. I hope my answer helps. D.D.

"Hi D. D.

It’s only me Carol of “Norman & Carol F.”, N. Y.

Norman asked me to ask you for your free “July 4 Th. Show” you mentioned he could have if he asked for it! He’s asking!!

We have been so busy with the work around here, the work goes slow when you get older and the job gets harder to do when there is so much to be done! The house is taking shape now so the move looks like it’s around the corner!

Looking forward to tomorrow’s 2:00 p.m. show and an early lunch so we can be back for it on time! HE, HE!

Thank you for the free-bee!" Port Jefferson Station, New York

"Hi

I received the package. It had been damaged, got wet or something and was in a plastic bag, by the Post Office. Seems it got wet, but the CD and contents are okay.  My certificate was a bit messed up, but okay.  Got a kick out of the certificate.  Thanks for sample of shampoo, anything special about it? (Nothing other than it 'official 'DELTA DICK' Show shampoo and not everybody has it! D.D.)

I listened to the CD and I think you did an exceptional job.  You didn't leave anyone out.  I especially liked "God Bless America Again".  Jack was a Marine and it brought some tears.  What in the world will you do for next 4th?  Don't see how you can top this.  Thanks for being so kind as to send me a copy since I could not tune in.

Thanks again for the great program."

I just want you to know you outdid yourself putting this patriotic show together.  It was wonderful and so very good to know there are patriotic people like you out there.  Keep up the good work and I'm for sure going to keep listening.  As I've written to you before, my brother, Dick Zavodny has a polka band here in Loveland Colorado and he also DJ's a Sunday afternoon polka show on the local radio station.  Maybe one of these days I can talk him into IJ-ing a segment for the 247polkaheaven.com show."

"Thanks for putting together a great patriotic program. Enjoyed it very much. Thanks for the Certificate and shampoo."

"Your program sounds very interesting. I will try to listen, thanks for mentioning it to us."

"Dick,

Our thanks to you for your putting the effort into gathering all of the music. We'll be sure to listen in."

"HI Dick,

Hope things are going well.  I also wanted to let you know that the whole office will be listening to your show on July 5th ( recorded ).  We're all looking forward to it."

"Hi Dick and thanks for reply.

Yes, I do enjoy your show and others .I play a lot of Irish polkas on 5 row midi accordion for set dancing which I will be doing in about 3 hours time.  Once again greetings from Dublin (Ireland). Regards."

"Howdy from Arkansas,

I don’t know if you can help me or not, but I just purchased an Iorio Accordion off of E-Bay, and am looking for a foot pedal for it.  It’s an Old accordion I know, and was told that it’s a model “E”.  I don’t know if the electronics work on it or not, but sure would love to find out.  Any information that you can find out would be greatly appreciated. (READERS & LISTENERS" If you can help Henry out, please e-mail him at hnapierala@cox.net THANKS !! D.D.)

By the way, I’ve received your “Official Shampoo” and will be taking a picture of it next to the “Bentonville, Arkanasa” sign as soon as I can.  I’ll email you a copy of the picture."

"GREETINGS FROM IRELAND !!

Hi Dick, just to say hello from Dublin (Ireland) receiving you loud and clear.  Maybe you can play a Swiss or Austrian polka.
Many thanks."

"You always mention something about “Bentonville”.  Well, isn’t that ironic.  I live in Bentonville, Arkansas!  I love polka music, and it really is hard to find a good Polka station here in Arkansas.  I use to listen to them as a child up until I left Lorain Ohio for the Navy to see the world.  After 20 years and 9 days, I decided I didn’t want to make a career of it, so I settled down here.  Home of Sam Walton and Wal-Mart.  Every time I went home on leave, I couldn’t wait for the 5 pm Polka show out of Cleveland, and the local Saturday show hosted by Jimmy Bryda.  Now that my parents have passed on, there’s no reason to go back to Ohio so no polkas for this kid until 247 Polka Heaven came on the air.  That really made my day.  I had shortness of breath when they went off the air for that short (seemed eternal) time, and always checked to see when it would be back on the air.

To everyone at 247 Polka Heaven, keep up the good work."

"Hi D.D;

We have the computer on from early in the morning to late at night, enjoying 24/7! The one day I specifically wanted to hear your show to hear about my e-mail, I missed it! Either that or I missed it ‘while I was outside moving the hose! Well I’ll catch it again this week I hope! Talk to you soon,."

"Hi!  Congrats on the new website!  Its beautiful!  You really did a great job!  I listen to your polkas every time I remember to turn it on."

"Hi Delta Dick,

I was listening to your show yesterday when you played a polka by John Dietz Trio Band.  Would you please e-mail me any information you have about his recordings...CDs, and Thank You." Somerset, Wisconsin (Readers and Listeners: Anyone have any information about the Twin Lakes Trio?)

"Listening from Sharon, Pennsylvania."

"After reading all your mail I can see you have a lot of great listeners that enjoy your show as much as we do! As 'Martha' would say, 'that’s a good thing!' Thanks for your time and entertaining mail!"

"Thanks for our picture on your website!"

"Why does your name sound so familiar to me????? I saw it in the Guest Book for Sgt. Vick and I just feel like I know you from somewhere. My name is Marlys Dorfer...my parents were John and Ella....my siblings are Barb, Sharon and Jack. Was born and raised in Wayzata (Minnesota)father and brother were both in the Fire Department there and my Dad made the most delicious BBQ ribs in his backyard smoker on Broadway!!!!!!!!

P.S. You have a great website. I went to it and searched around quite a bit. Could not believe the obits you had on Mrs. Benver, Mr. Bittle and Mr. Sonenstahl (all of whom I remember from the old days).

Thanks for the memories.
Marlys"

It’s only me Carol of “Norman & Carol Foggan” Long Island, New York.

We have been listening to “24/7” for awhile now and we have gotten to know the different I.J. sounds and personalities! You are definitely a CHARACTER!

We went early to lunch today so we would be back on time for your noon-time show, that’s how bad it’s become! Norman loves your Silly jokes and I love your choice of sounds so you see we are one of your people! You are so corny, You really kill us!

LOL, Carol"

"Hi There Delta Dick,

It is now April 14th, 2005 and I'm setting here at work listening to your show (streaming). I'm sure I'll get into trouble with the IT folks because we aren't supposed to stream but your polka show is worth it. I love your show and all the music you play. I now live in Colorado but was born and raised in Nebraska.  Growing up in Nebraska we danced a lot to Whoopie John, Six Fat Dutchman, Ernie Kucera and many other so I love the Midwest type of polka music.  My brother Dick Zavodny has his own polka band here in Colorado and also DJ's a polka show on our local radio station on Sunday's from noon to 4PM.  Thanks for bringing us such an enjoyable show.  Keep up the good work." (Everybody should listen to Old Tyme Music while they're at work. It would make the world a better place! D.D.)

"Caught your show this morning. Enjoyed it! Some of the jokes appear to be from a freshly opened can of a yellow kernel vegetable, but the music is great."

"Listened to your show the other day on 24-7. Enjoyed it immensely. Sounds good here in Alabama. Plan to make your show a weekly listen to must."

"Dear Dick:

I was raised in Vt.but have lived in Ct. for over 50 years. I tell everybody about 247 even if they don't have computers they can pass it on, even in Vt. where I spend alot of time. Also in TN. You're great."

"Dear Dick:,

I listen to you on 247, I haven't heard where you are located. Your music is great as I am polish and I love it.  I'm in Monroe Connecticut."

"Dick -

That was an opening. Some editing work no matter what kind of equipment you have!"

"Richard,

Thank you so much for the CD of your show. I enjoy listening to your show. You do a great job on your show. Keep polka alive in 2005."

"I listen to your show on 247 and enjoy it very much. Can you tell me where I can obtain the Krakow Polka and any information about  Stanky and the Coalminers?" (LISTENERS ??)

"Old Minnesotan, now living and listening in Abilene, Texas. Great music, with the sounds of B-1's and C-130's in the air 24 hours a day. What a great sound of freedom."

"Enjoying your show from Bel Air, Maryland."

"Dick;

Walter Brennan - 'old yeller' ?   I actually cried when old yeller died.  Nobody plays Walter Brennan only classic country radio formats and the Delta Dick Show. You never cease to amaze me."
(Actually; it's 'Old River'. D.D.)

"Delta:

You do nice work! John"

"I heard your comment about not putting the picture I sent of Ray Z and yours truly on the website.  Good thing I can take a joke -- Guess you can too, having had the Vikes deflated again this year!"

"Merry Christmas, Dick! I'm listening here in Marblehead, Massachusetts, rooting through my wife's purse, then finding LOTS of green paper with dead Americans' pictures. I'm sending them all to you. You can trust me! Happy New Year too from a former resident of Hutchinson, Minn."

"Hi Dick,

What a name from the past. Boy you were one of the best dispatchers they ever had at radio.  You were one person who could really multi task.  Thanks for the email."

"Dear Dick:

I get you on my computer, I just love your show and all the other ones on 247. Thank you all for having it. I am Genevieve from Mechanicville, N.Y Would you play a Ray Henry tune for me? I always loved him. Could you E-Mail where I can get some of Rays CD's? I am handicapped in a wheelchair so I never can catch an address when you do it on your show. If you give it to me on my computer I can pick it up better. Thank you. I hope you all on the show (polka) have a Happy Holiday. Love Genevieve."

"TWICE!!!  Really funny stuff."

"Delta Dick,

I was truly impressed to hear Matt on your show this Wednesday the 17th of November.  He is alive even if his honeymoon has made him unable to walk."

"Hi

I played the CD you sent me and the piece I wanted IS on it and it is beautiful !  It's got a Spanish tempo to it.  I'll be going to the Beach in December to my sister's and am taking it with/me and let her hear it She will love it.

Many, many thx."

"I am a big fan of the Delta Dick Show. I've told you before that your style is so unusual that it holds my attention throughout the hour. Very well produced and great entertainment. Love those comical drop-ins along the way."

"Recently I heard the "John Deere Polka". This was a great novelty and I would like to know if this could be purchased on a CD. Would you please let me know. Thanks." (The song is from a CD entitled 'A Salute To The American Farmer & Rancher'; CD number is CDJD2004, U.P.C. Code is 687474104122. D.D.)

"Dick;

I complimented you on my show today regarding your style and presentation of the show.  Nobody does it  your way. I'm sitting in my office this morning. Just got done with some production and waiting to hear the Delta Dick show @ 12 Noon.

Bill Flynn" (Fellow Internet Jockey on 247polkaheaven.com)

"Hi:

Listened tonite, Wed.   Good show.  Especially enjoyed the opening 50th Anniversary Polka, Diggy , diggy lo and Saddle Horse Polka.  I like the German type polkas. Thanks."

"Hello to you there !!!!!

Very nice music , maybe you have some from Johnny Pecon ????

I like it also very much ........

Play nice polka music for all the people in the Netherlands who are listening to this great music station on the Internet.

Greetings from Koos , north part off the Netherlands."

"Aren't you up early listening to a show that you recorded and edited to create a great quality program for 247polkaheaven  You must really love polka music.  I caught your show this morning.  Good Job."

"Delta Dick,

Thanks for the great show today! I listen to 24-7 Polka Heaven somewhat sporadically, so it was the first time I've heard your show. It's another one of those mornings that just doesn't want to get started. Your great sense of humor and not-quite-too-over-the-top delivery helped ease me into consciousness very well. I look forward to listening to you again soon." Washington, D.C.

"Enjoy show. Thx."

"Hi there Delta Dick...

Enjoy listening to your music on the Internet each morning while checking my messages.  Could you please play THE CLARINET POLKA for my husband, Laroy.

Keep up the good work....  keep Polish heritage in the forefront of our great country."

"I'm listening to you right now and I heard a polka being played with a Mexican beat that was so pretty.  I've heard it before.  I didn't hear you give the title of it.  It played about 8:45(our time).  Can you tell me what the name of that was. Thanks."

"I would like to make a request if I could.  I would like to hear Lynn Marie and "Love will keep us
together" from her new CD.  Thank you."

"I liked the second last song before you ended your show. It sounded like a Caribbean long tune. Very nice long song great rhythm  almost rumba type. Can you give me the name?

"I listened to your program tonite and it was an exceptionally good show.  You had so many good pieces on it. Thanks."

"Delta Dick;

I've told my audience many times what an interesting show you have. I told the same to Ray Zalokar in a recent phone call.  Very entertaining.  A show that holds you're attention because you're audience never knows what you're going to say next. You're mix of music is fabulous as well as your ad-lib's. On the site, we all have our own styles, but yours cannot be duplicated.  Good luck Dick and keep it going.

By the way, since major corporations buy up the small stations and cancel most ethnic shows, along comes 247 to the rescue.  It is the very best thing to happen to our polka radio shows."

"Thank you for the CD of the Delta Dick show on 247polkaheaven. I really enjoyed it. The music is great."

"Thanks so much, Delta Dick, for being such a Special Friend and so kind to me. I truly appreciate it. Have a wonderful year and the very best for 247 Polka Heaven."

"First of all, I must tell you how much I enjoy your Polka Show.

Today, on Monday, Sept 6, at approximately 11:00 A.M., central time, you played a polka, that had the sound and reference of a John Deere Tractor.  I missed the title of the song.  Can you by chance tell me the name and artist.  I would certainly appreciate the information if possible.  Thanks in advance for your help and trouble. Austin, Texas."

"Listening to your show right now this Wednesday night before off to play softball so it isn't a lie in that promo at all.  Thanks for the plug..... If I sent a cd of polka music sung by......... by.......some guy would you play it?  Did you know that you haven't visited our chats on Mondays or Thursdays?  I'm sure you know that.  It's a hint of sorts.  Well gotta get my glove on.   Loved that married song or something that was at the beginning part tonight - funny.  Love that stuff.  Have a glorious and blessed night!"

"Your brain never quits does it??"

"Dear Sir: Would appreciate it very much if you could play my new CD sometime on your show. Thank you."

"Hi Dick,

Sorry we couldn't make it to the get together., we were out of town that weekend.  We wanted to see you again in Cologne.  Just wanted to ask you about tonight's program on 247.......Right before your sign off theme song you played a great polish tune...sounded like Lil Wally., and wanted to know the artist and an address., and the album or cassette name.  Would appreciate if you could Email me any info on that band.   Thank you so much.  We love you very much for your efforts on 247.  You have been marvelous...(even without your sidekick Matt....no pun intended).  Thanks again."

"I loaded up the 5 disk C.D. player today with the copies of your Internet show you loaned me from the 'Delta Dick Show' library and CRANKED IT UP. The quality was great and LOADS of old time music. Great variety and good humor!!  Good Job Delta!!"

"Enjoy listening to your show here in beautiful Ligonier, Pa. Approximately 50 mi. east of Pittsburgh, Pa. Thanks."

"Thanks for the invite to the Listeners Appreciation Get -together.  I can't make it. Please keep me on your mailing list though."

"Dear Sir:

Thanks for the invitation to the Delta Dick Listener Appreciation Get Together. If I get a ride I will be there. Saturday July 24th at Shep's Place. Thanks for inviting me."

"Dick -

Caught most of your show yesterday evening.  Enjoyed most of it as I had to leave for
softball.  Was that Eddie B.  singing in that patriotic medley? The joke about the beacon
light on the water tower I must say I saw that coming, but it's a classic.

"Received CD. Am enjoying it. Quality is great. Thanks."

"I'm listening to you right now, in Plymouth Michigan. Good job!!!  Play an oberek for me."

"Hi there,

Thanks for your info about Larry Novotny. I was able to talk with him today, and he is sending me info on the music he has for sale. We have listened to 27/7 for a couple of years now.  Usually hear it at 9 and 10PM, Calif. time each evening. We are located in Woodland, CA - just west of Sacramento  (Gray Seibert country).   We are part of Gary's Polka Boosters' club."

"We met Ray Zalokar in Las  Vegas last Feb, and Denny Bucar at the Sky Ranch party in Sept."

"Keep up the good work.  Polka is such great music."

"Fishin' Minnesota; I've got to get a copy of this polka tune............can you help me?" (See below)

"Hello there, We just listened to your show that featured Larry Novotny - the one-man band from Minnesota.  Could you tell us where we could purchase some of his music?? Thank you." (Check out the link to Larry's Webpage on my homepage. D.D.)

"Hi Dick,

I couldn't sleep, so I thought I would check out your radio show & your web page; it's been a long time that I heard polka music, my mom used to have it on the radio all the time when I lived at home. I enjoy listening to it from time to time; I'll be dropping in again to listen to your show.  I was surprised by your home page, all the information you have on it, I check out a few websites and I'll be back to check out more of them. Take Care."

"I got to hear your entire show tonite, Wed; got kicked off one time, went to buffering and came back on.  You are a super show host.  You sounded so professional, the show moved right along and your interaction with  the program was great."

"Hi Delta  Love the show and all the 247 IJ's.   Please Play My Forever Friend By Bobby Vinton Or Polish Tradition. Or In My Garden 2 Roses Just For You."

"Keep up the good work. God Bless"

"Hi Delta,

Great work on 247 Polka Heaven.

I like the way you have music in the background. I don't feel cheated with a lot of talk and no music.

Here is the ENERGY CD I promised you. I will be going to Pulaski Polka days this July. Sorry it's the same week as your Get Together. (But I will make one of yours with my drums.)

More CD's will come. Thanks."

"Listening to your show here in the "Big Apple" New York City  6/7/04.... Your show is coming in LOUD & CLEAR."

"How De Polka Cuzzin, Greeting from Good Ole NYC..... Listening to your show as I write.....  Your show is Loud and clear in NYC."

"Delta Dick: One of the greatest blessings God can give us is the gift of a friend who cares - Thank you for being that someone. Thanks for being such a good and caring friend this last year. I enjoyed your visits and phone calls and the CD's. I truly appreciate it."

"Hi Dick,

I finally have the time to listen randomly to the wonderful shows you folks are producing on 24/7 Polka Heaven.  All I can say is thank you for presenting an excellent assortment of polka music in an admirable professional way.  I enjoy it immensely as I tune in at the very strangest times as you would guess.

"Dear Delta Dick:

Thank you for sending me a copy of the 10th show,   I play it almost every day.  Yes I'm a polka nut.  I'm still trying to figure out what band played the song medley with the Lawrence Welk theme attached to it was it the Bruce Bradley band?  Also at the end of the CD was that Lenny Gomulka singing. I was a painter; lived in the city. Love the music. Big fan. Bayonne NJ"

"Hello,

I love your show---listening from Pittsburgh, PA. Keep up the good work. Bernice."

"HEY DD --

Friday night/Sat AM show May 22-23 @ midnight (depending on Central or Eastern time).

REALLY GOOD SHOW.  You were doing it solo and one after the other.  Great selection.  Love the Whoopee John and Six Fat Dutchmen numbers.  Also learning to love good buttonbox.  Keep'er up.

To answer earlier question you asked -- I do have Internet at the Isabella cabin.  I put a phone in a couple of years ago after going 25 plus years without.  I refuse to get into the cell phone thing, so I put in a landline.  I get half price, half the year, when I go on seasonal rate since nobody is there.  Hope to see you in June -- will coordinate when time draws near.".

"Hi,

I listen to 247PolkaHeaven.com a lot at work as I grew up in Wisconsin listening to bands like Roger Bright, Verne Meisner, Frankie Yankovic, and others.  In my travels to Ohio, I personally met Frankie Spetich and Hank Haller.  While working in Ohio, I also listened to Frank Stanger."

"I enjoyed your show very much.  Keep up the good work!"

"Thank You  for  responding  to me ,  keep up the good work. Bob."

"Polka Joe and Polka Jennifer from Dallas Tx saying HELLO--1st time heard y'al on 247 Polka Heaven. Great Show. Host North Texas Polka Radio on Sunday from 2-3PM CST on KNON 89.3 FM ---www.knon.org--alternating with Al and Elizabeth Vanek. Try to keep our heritage alive in Texas.

"Dear Delta Dick    I was listening to your show on Friday night I believe and you played a song that was a medley of a song that included the Lawrence Welk theme at the end of the song.  I must have missed it but you didn't mention who it was by.  Could you let me know and tell me if its still available on cd or cassette.  Love your show  great variety and I'm a big fan of polka music. Thanks for your time. Bayonne, New  Jersey."

"Can you send me a CD of the Delta Dick Polka Show? Thank you."

"Dick; You're the Best!!!!!"

"Thank you, really enjoy your show."

"Hi Dick - Just wanted you to know I checked out your website and will be sure to do some listening - Good Luck and would be nice to see you sometime."

"I am Mark Novotny and listen in from Montgomery, Mn. Larry Novotny Sr. is my dad, and hope to hear more music from him. Polka music is the best."

"Listened to your show tonite, Wed 28th Apr.  I enjoy the Midwest polka music, the Oompah sound.  I heard the Schneider Polka, didn't get name of performer though and like it a lot."

"I listen to you on 24/7 polka heaven every time you are on since I listen to 24/7 when ever I'm home working on my computer. I live in Whitehall, Pa., which is 62 miles NE of the Philadelphia. Keep up the good work. You have a very good show."

"Hello from SLOVENIA.
I'm listening your show on 247polkaheaven right now (18:22 CET). You have great music. I would like to send you all best wishes and to say hello to all polka lovers in US and of course to all Slovene people out there. I would like to say that here is very festive last few days, we are quite high about become a new member of Europe Union, so the May 1st, will be the happiest day since our independence day in 1991.

Best regards."

"Hi Dick,  I just wanted to say that since your debut on 247polkaheaven, you have done an outstanding job.  And along with your sidekick, Matt, both of you are great. You have a lot of influence as far as your vast audience knows.  I have lost interest in KCHK's old time music shows.  I only wish that in the very near future, you would have a daily spot on the 247 worldwide website.  Just a question to ask you..........you had mentioned that while on the show that people could Email you.  I don't know if I would have success with that part of it because when I log onto 247polkaheaven and click on to Listen to 247 Polka Heaven., that opens up the web site.  Then windows Media player is activated. If I would want to Email you I would have to close out the Media player as well as the 247 polka site.  I don't know that much about computers to know how to go about doing that.  I did get the LLC cert from you some time ago......what a nice Cert. that is. Whenever you get time let me know about the Emailing part so I would know how to do it.  Maybe I ms-interpreted somewhere along the way.  Have a great day."

NOTE: Don't 'close' your media players window, just 'minimize' it (Click on the window's '-' in the upper right hand corner of the window. Then, using your Internet browser, 'open' up a second window. In this way, you'll still be able to listen to 247PolkaHeaven.com and also be able to send e-mails, view other Webpages, etc. Only problem that you might encounter is momentary interruptions or 'burps' of the audio from 247PolkaHeaven.com because your computer is trying to do more than one 'thing' at the same time. That's because of browsing other websites, not because of 247PolkaHeaven.com.

"We are in Port Chester, New York. Love the show. Say Hello to everyone for me, in New York and Connecticut Area Spring has sprung today, Good weather here."

"From Las Vegas. Wish to commend you on your outstanding polka show. Great polka listening pleasure. Appreciate your show."

"I sure do miss the old KCHK,  Tom left, then you. Wow, what a shock. I was a truck driver going to 3M in Hutchinson. You guys sure made the trip a fun one. Now I don't think they even play polka music anymore. Sure am happy you and Matt came to 247 Polka Heave. That theme song is a great wake up number. Mike, Clinton, Iowa"

"Heard the tail end of your show this Wed night.  I enjoy the style of polkas you play. I especially liked the polka you closed your  program with.  Could you play it in it's entirety?.

Thanks,
Kay, SC"

"Wonderful Show."

"Enjoying your show.  Happy you solved the glitches of your previous broadcast. Listening from Las Vegas. Good going Delta. Regards

"Hello...I live in Inglis, Florida. I would also like to say I love your show. I'm a great polka fan."

"Thanks for bringing Polkas, Waltz Obereks to the web.  Enjoyed hearing you."

"Delta Dick, Enjoyed your show very Much. Regards."

"Great Seeing the comments today!"

"Does your listener comments open up, I've not been able to locate them, on the click here, didn't open.  I see we are all western music every day on KCHK after 8:00.  And a few hours old tyme, after the power is turned down to do BBQ suppers, I think."

"HI-
My name is Ed Klimczak, from Amherst, Ohio.  I enjoy your show, you have a nice personality and sense of humor.  The opening was great, I'm a Disney person, and that Disney opening song is great.  Keep up the good work."

"Got to listen to about fifteen minutes of your show tonight.  I appreciate the oompah old time sounds, but I think I told you that last week.

What struck me is that you  played  "Dick's Polka."   I certainly wasn't expecting to hear that particular song tonight.   The following is not for your audience, but earlier today I had to go to Appleton, so I stopped in to see the man who wrote it. He is 72 and in a home because he is slowly losing his mind.  He recognized me and we talked a while, but many sentences went nowhere.

Dick was a kid when he wrote that piece, and he gave it to Lawrence Duchow untitled, who said "Let's call it Dick's Polka,"  and that's how it got it's name....OK..I'm done rambling now.  Keep up the Midwest oompah sounds."

"Enjoying the show as always."

"Delta Dick, thank you for you e-mail.  I have passed your information on to my mom who will send you our two greatest hits CD's.  They each contain over 25 songs and are compiled of all of the music we have put out over the years.  We have 24 recordings out, so it would be difficult to send them all especially since we are sold out of a lot.  The two greatest hits have
a great selection on from over the years.  Good luck with your show.

"Hi,
Larry Novotny told me about your site, which is super interesting with all the links.  I live in rural Montgomery and work in Richfield."

"Keep up the good work and I'll visit again/"

"Keep up the good work.".

"I like the "oldies" mostly German. I grew up in "God's Country", about 130 miles SE of the Twin Cities and that music way popular way back then. I recall Tanta Anna, which you played, was popular. Some others you might play (if I didn't miss them) are Schweizer Bua, Cuckoo waltz, Tictoc polka, Back to My Homeland waltz, and almost anything by the Six Fat Dutchmen and Whoopee John.

I went to school in St. Paul and met a lot of people from small towns in MN but never heard of Cologne or Eagan if that's how it's spelled. I hear you're playing Life in the Finnish Woods now. It sounds like the popular tune of many years ago, Mockingbird Hill. The band leader, Bert Gasch, told me that it really is a Finnish waltz which the Norwegians "adopted" and that's why it's popular in the upper Midwest. Anyhow, I found Cologne but the other town was too small to be in the index of my atlas."

"I JUST STUMBLED ON TO YOUR BROADCAST. TERRIFIC. THANKS."

"Just finished listening to your show, for the first time and really enjoyed it.  I'm from SC and love polka music.   I heard a beautiful piece which I think you said was Green Mt. Polka by a local band.  Would love to hear it again. Thanks!"

"Hi Dick,  Boy oh boy, you and Matt are fantastic on 24/7.  Imagine all the exposure the bands will get that are from New Prague, Monty, New Ulm and wherever.  Suppose you will feature some Ben Barta's music.  His music is great also. To join the club will have to call up your main web page.  I'll be hitting that big 70 on March 29, so if you can find some good snappy polka to play for me, I'll be tuned in all the time you are on.  Wednesday, the 31st would be the best as I will be glued to 24/7.  My wife and I think you both are the greatest."

"Since you are from Minnesota....might you know of anyone who has re-released the Jolly Lumberjack's material in CD form????"

"Dick... enjoying the music on your website."

"Dick - good morning.  I was at your site this morning and saw you and Matt doing your show?  Is that his studio? (Yes)  Looks extravagant; a couple of bucks. I was trying to do your links and didn't work.  Maybe your site used up all my memory I don't know, but thought you might like to know.  That's a funny picture of Paul Magers.  Does he have a patch or something on his eye?"

"Been a listener to 24/7 and particularly want to acknowledge your new program which I find to be excellent in presentation and information beyond the fine Polka music that your offer. Am now listening to your St. Pat's eve show as I type this note."

"Briefly checked out your "Delta Dick" web page and bookmarked it. I will have to checked it out in detail when I am not listening to 24/7 as my computer is a bit slow when I try multi-tasks when streaming music. Am extremely impressed in your acknowledgment of the  law enforcement  community in your area."

"As an aside, I have been fortunate to visit Eagan, MN during my career in sales. Gopher Recycling on Highway 149 was a client of mine."

"KEEP UP THE GREAT POLKA SOUNDS, and all the best."

"Dick:
Am listening to you for the first time, and first off I heard the Deutschmeisters.  Then immediately following that I hear Dick Rodgers...where are you from anyway???  The Midwest??? I like what I'm hearing."

"Dick:
Well, after Dick Rodgers you mentioned you are headquartered in Minnesota. ..guess that answers  my first email. As for the Musical Brass...they are from Green Bay...or from a small town just to the east of Green Bay, Denmark.  A dude by the name of Dave Duescher runs the group."

"Catching your Webcast on 247polkaheaven.  Met Ray Zalokar last fall.  I'm retired AF, now living in DAYTON OH.  Born in River Falls Wi and grew up in that part of WI.  Graduated HS from Independence WI and College at UWRF.  My summer place is 20 acres near Isabella MN.  Always listen to Polka Pal Don out of WELY every Sat AM on the web and when up there on radio.  Do you get to the Festival at Chisholm in June?"

"Hi Delta,
Very glad to catch your first show on 247polkaheaven.  I was a regular listener last summer when I found you from SW Minneapolis on KCHK New Prague.  This area of SW Florida in Naples is almost void of polka music.  I like it all but my favorite style is Slovanian."

"I am listening from Cherokee, KS  & Grove OK. You have quite a website."

"Good shows. Great to have you with us. Thanks."

"It's about time we have something that has been long over due (247polkaheaven.com) and there is a good man doing it."

"Delta Dick: You deserve to have nice things happen to you...It's wonderful to hear that something has! The very best to you and your new show on Polka Heaven. I hope the best for you I prayed for you to get a nice job and it happened. Take care & keep in touch."
